About the Role
You will be responsible for , managing, maintaining, and growing the Murmur web department and ensuring that our work reflects our process and values. You will also be an influential member of the leadership team and responsible for integrating your department strategy with Murmur’s overall business strategy.
You know what a good website is and you know that a Murmur website needs to be better than good. You are intimately acquainted with all aspects of website building and design. You understand the importance of storytelling, animation, branding, UI/UX, analytics, SEO, conversion optimization, various functionality, and coding and you can quickly identify when one of these things is amiss and needs improvement. You are an excellent communicator and have no problem selling a client on the wonderful solutions and improvements we can offer to help grow their business online.
Conduct: Manage a team of seven individuals. Responsible for regular employee 1:1’s and team meetings, monitoring performance, completing employee performance reviews, coaching and mentoring, developing and training team members
Monitor: Responsible for creating, updating and monitoring Web Development strategy, leading continuous process improvement efforts, and managing department budget
Maintaining positive culture
Attend: Leadership meetings and contribute insights and improvement opportunities
Participate: in sales meetings and sell websites to potential clients
Review: contracts, RFPs, and other onboarding docs for determining agency fit and opportunities
Determine: the level of effort and time needed to accomplish the project scope, review expectations and assignments with team members, ensure quality and timelines are being met according to the project plan, roll up your sleeves and help get the work done
Interview: and hire new department employees in conjunction with HR
Develop: relationships with freelance talent
Maintain: a working level of knowledge of all department employee duties in order to assist with questions and be able to contribute to all project phases in a meaningful way
At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role facilitating the creation of digital experiences for clients.
A passion and deep knowledge of branding and websites.
