As the previous owner’s daughters took over the business, they sought to pay homage to their family’s decades of work while reaching new consumers. The brand had an established presence as a caring neighbor and educator that needed a new visual identity system with flexibility for modern applications.


Logo & Visual Identity Design
Portland Nursery’s previous logo was a photograph of a passion flower, which limited its adaptability and functionality on digital platforms.
We illustrated the passion flower with upward momentum, using stylistic references of vintage botanical field guides to reinforce their legacy as plant experts. Our new brand identity also established typography guidelines and a refined color palette.

We built a compelling foundation for Portland Nursery’s next century of business, centering their focus on local communities, premium plant products, and lush, immersive city escapes.

Wayfinding & Experiential Design
With their newly flexible and modernized branding, we brought this revitalized energy to their nurseries. Sophisticated signage and murals across the stores reinforce brand messaging and bring moments of surprise and delight to visitors.







Brand Extensions
We made it effortless for Portland Nursery to connect with gardeners in their everyday lives. Our team built a system of templates to empower the PN team to easily maintain brand consistency across social media, website graphics, and sales efforts.
We also designed an apparel and accessories collection, making Portland Nursery a part of each green thumbs’ daily coffee or outfit of the day.
