Russell St. BBQ

Russell St. BBQ is a popular Portland restaurant that prides itself on delicious barbecue made with the freshest ingredients and naturally-raised meats.

Initially, Russell Street asked for their mark to depict a cowgirl riding a pig. We liked the idea, but felt we could simplify the concept. We decided to depict the pig with an empty saddle and position the animal as if it had just bucked a rider.

We created hand-lettered typography with a western feel. We carried over the stars from their original logo.

Custom designed menus and clipboards.

The clipboards were handmade from locally-sourced bamboo, and then stained to look like walnut for a more classic look (bamboo was used because it is stronger, more durable and more sustainable than wood).
